Tullibody Civic Centre

I had the pleasure of visiting Tullibody Civic Centre again this week – and I was blown away by the transformation since my last visit.

The volunteers at Tullibody Community Development Trust have done an incredible job, and the new plans for the centre look fantastic. They’ll take what is already a thriving community hub to the next level – improving accessibility, creating more social space, and better connecting the Heritage Centre with the rest of the building.

It was great to see the centre busy with locals – whether dropping in to view the plans or just enjoying everything the centre has to offer. A silent disco was in full swing while I was there, the Kitchen Garden is thriving, and the Heritage Centre continues to grow with some truly fascinating local artefacts on display.

The pitch is also looking fantastic – with the old bowling green recently transformed into a multi-use astro surface that’s already proving to be a great asset for the community.

I’ll be writing to my colleagues at the Scottish Government in support of the Trust’s funding application – and I want to thank everyone involved and all volunteers for their efforts. A special thanks to Scott, the architect behind the plans, as well as Janette, Chris, Lynsey, Linda and Rita from the Trust, whose commitment to the community continues to make such a difference.

A brilliant example of what community leadership and local volunteers can achieve.
