“ANGER AND DISAPPOINTMENT” at dolls’ house demolition

Keith Brown MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for the Clackmannanshire & Dunblane constituency, has expressed his dismay at the demolition yesterday of Carsebridge House, known locally as the “Dolls’ House” following a recent fire which had left the historic property severely damaged.  Keith has written to Historic Environment Scotland and the Cabinet Secretary for Constitution, External Affairs and Culture, and has lodged a motion in the Scottish Parliament.

Speaking this afternoon, Keith said:

“The fire at Carsebridge House in Alloa a couple of weeks ago resulted in serious damage to the historic property known as the Dolls’ House.  Immediately after the fire an application for demolition was submitted but I was utterly appalled to learn that it was torn down without warning yesterday.

“I have written to Historic Environment Scotland and the Cabinet Secretary asking what action can be taken and I will be lodging a motion in the Scottish Parliament to highlight this issue to other MSPs and give them the opportunity to share my anger and disappointment at the loss of this historic property.”
