Keith Brown MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for the Clackmannanshire & Dunblane constituency, has welcomed the announcement of £30million of funding allocated by the Scottish Government to invest in the reduction of NHS waiting lists.
Speaking this afternoon, Keith said:
“This is a significant sum of money that is very welcome indeed. A £30million investment in the reduction of NHS waiting lists that will ensure people in my Clackmannanshire & Dunblane constituency have greater access to appointments and procedures and continue the work to reduce the number of people waiting too long for treatment.
“It is anticipated that, across Scotland, this funding will mean 12,000 additional procedures, 40,000 extra diagnostic reprocedures and 12,000 new outpatient appointments.
“Against the backdrop of further cuts from Westminster, it is pleasing to see the Scottish Government investing in our public services. Under First Minister John Swinney, the SNP is determined to deliver first rate public services and this funding will ensure that the public have access to a health service that works for them.”
