KEITH BROWN MSP MEETS WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF HMP YOI STIRLING

MSP for Clackmannanshire and Dunblane, Keith Brown, has visited HMP YOI Stirling to discuss on-going constituent concerns over anti-social behaviour.

Keith met with Scottish Prison Service representatives including Linda Pollock, Deputy Chief Executive, Ian Whitehead, Divisional Head of Operations and Paula Arnold, Governor in Charge to raise further correspondence from residents over noise emanating from the prison.

Keith highlighted numerous emails he has received from constituents regarding continued noise and anti-social behaviour concerns,  and pressed SPS on what actions they have taken and are taking in an attempt to mitigate the issues raised. Keith was able to view the external measures which have been taken thus far on campus, and was also advised of on-going efforts to improve the locale.

SNP MSP for Clackmannanshire and Dunblane, Keith Brown, said:

“Following further representations received from constituents, I had a frank exchange of views with SPS over the detail of issues residents have raised with me.”

“I have encouraged SPS to take all measures possible to ensure their neighbours do not have to continue to experience anti-social behaviour from those within HMP YOI Stirling and to move forward with a variety of proposals”

“I will continue to engage with constituents and monitor the situation, and will continue to press SPS for appropriate action”
