Keith Brown welcomes completion of £11.2 Million investment in Dunblane Railway Station

Brown hails “Immense work” as new signals, and maintenance for footbridge and lift implemented in Dunblane station.

The MSP for Clackmannanshire and Dunblane, Keith Brown, has welcomed the news that the £11.2 million investment in Dunblane Railway Station is nearing completion.

Between Saturday the 3rd of February and Monday 5th February at 4:50am, Network Rail engineers will be installing a new signaling system, with no trains running to or from Dunblane during that time. Passengers then being able to use the station again from that Monday morning.

At the same time, work will begin on a four-month programme to maintain the footbridge and lifts at the station.

These changes will help reduce delays and improve train performance, while increasing freight capacity between Dunblane and Perth, and improve customer experience and safety.

SNP MSP for Clackmannanshire and Dunblane, Keith Brown, said:

“I welcome the news that the works resulting from the £11.2 Million investment in Dunblane Railway Station is nearing completion.

“This investment has seen significant change at Dunblane Station – new tracks, new signaling equipment, and an updated bridge and lift. All of these changes will improve travel times, and the customer experience.”

“This investment has been welcomed by myself, and by the people of Dunblane, but with this type of work comes inevitable disruption – and it’ll be good to see that come to an end.”
