Cost of living website “A fantastic resource”

Keith Brown MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for the Clackmannanshire & Dunblane constituency, has highlighted the Scottish Government’s Cost of Living website which provides a trusted source of information on a wide range of support available for Scottish households. The website content, which is regularly reviewed to ensure it is up to date and any new relevant information added, includes information on a range of household financial issues including debt, benefits and energy costs.

Speaking this afternoon, Keith said:

“Tackling poverty and protecting people from harm is one of the First Minister’s three critical missions for the Scottish Government and an objective I wholeheartedly support.

“The Scottish Government is doing all that it can with its limited budget and powers to support households during the ongoing cost of living crisis, including increasing the value of our Scottish Child Payment and delivering a £30 million Fuel Insecurity Fund in 2023/24 to support those at risk of self-disconnection from their fuel supply.

“One important resource that I want to highlight to constituents is the Cost of Living website which provides a trusted source of information on a wide range of support available for Scottish households.

“First launched in autumn 2022, the website includes information on a range of household financial issues including debt, benefits and energy costs. It also contains targeted information for older or disabled people and, importantly, information on health and wellbeing, which we know can be negatively impacted by money worries.

“These are issues which continue to be weigh heavily on many people in my constituency and I want to ensure that information which can help is as widely known as possible and this website is a fantastic resource.”
