Keith Brown MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for the Clackmannanshire & Dunblane constituency, has welcomed £2 billion of investment from the Scottish Government and COSLA to help build new, modern, state of the art facilities including a new Lochies ASN School in Clackmannanshire.
Commenting, Keith said:
“Lochies is a great school community with fantastic pupils and brilliant teachers. What they all deserve is a learning environment to match and I am absolutely delighted that this round of LEIP funding from the Scottish Government will mean that can be provided.
“Modern and state of the art facilities are the bedrock of high-quality education, ensuring all children including – indeed, especially – those with additional support needs, have equal opportunity to access safe, secure, and state of the art spaces in which to learn, grow and develop.
“The SNP takes the condition of our school estate seriously. In April 2007, only 61% of Scotland’s schools were graded as being in ‘good’ or ‘satisfactory’ condition. By April 2023, under the SNP, that figure has risen to 90.7%.
“This significant funding underlines the SNP Government’s commitment to delivering excellence and equity across Scotland’s schools, including here in Clackmannanshire – raising attainment and giving each child the best start in life.”
