SNP MSP for Clackmannanshire and Dunblane Keith Brown and SNP MP for Stirling Alyn Smith recently met with Mark Gibson – Public Affairs Manager for Scotland, Northeast England & Northern Ireland at the Post Office – regarding the lack of available Post Office services in Bridge of Allan.
At the meeting, a wide range of topics were discussed, focusing on the lack of Post Office services in Bridge of Allan following the closure of its Post Office at the start of the year.
Keith and Alyn highlighted constituents’ concerns regarding the lack of Post Office services in Bridge of Allan, stressing everything that this includes – sending letters and parcels, currency exchange, bill payments and top-ups – all affecting local constituents.
Commenting, SNP MSP for Clackmannanshire and Dunblane, Keith Brown, said:
“I was delighted to welcome Mark Gibson from the Post Office and Alyn Smith MP to my office in Alloa to discuss the future of Bridge of Allan Post Office.
“While we have not yet found a solution to the lack of services in Bridge of Allan, it was certainly worthwhile to sit down with Mark from the Post Office to discuss some of the challenges facing the Post Office in Bridge of Allan – including finding suitable premises and appointing a new postmaster.
“I understand that there is an interested party and that discussions between them and the Post Office are ongoing.
“I welcome the fact that interest in restoring the service in Bridge of Allan continues to be on the agenda.”
